Yeah the problem is that if MSU created a “mens study” space and literally prevented women from stepping foot in it, you best believe it would be a Title IX violation. So how is this not a violation of that very specific law?

I mean, it sucks because I understand the need for safe spaces, but can you really make a legal argument that in a public university, creating a space funded by the university, where men literally cannot go doesn’t violate this?
I would guess he’s just annoyed by the question being constantly asked but didn’t know how to phrase that. Unlike a white dude being constantly asked about diversity he can actually say it’s annoying. It’s funny to me he drew attention to diversity with the very name of the show but still doesn’t want to talk about it…
Who said anything about a fictional WET? Clearly that shouldn’t exist because a majority of networks and shows are white already. :)
It’s so interesting how privilege dynamics and representation create two very different realities.
If this was Jezebel, the title would’ve been “Entitled White Male Harasses Chinese Woman Online, Gets What He Deserves.”
If I was single and I got accidentally pregnant and the father didn’t want a kid and I did, I wouldn’t demand child support.
In all sincerity, I think we should have both. Abortion on demand, for any reason (because it’s my body, my decision) BUT ALSO all of the “pro-life” policies these guys are talking about, like paid parental leave, affordable quality child care, equal pay, etc. so that women don’t feel like they have to get an abortion…
I’m curious, how do you feel about the fact that men cannot opt out of parental financial responsibility?
If you actually take the time to read the article their positions make a whole lot of sense...certainly more than the usual republican position. And isn’t one of the most common criticisms of Republicans that they stop caring about the person/fetus the moment they are born? These people seem to at least not be…
Coercion is coercion, even if it comes with better health care and child care assistance. That said, if they want to offer this stuff in the hopes that fewer women will choose abortion (while not obstructing women’s right to get one), then they can knock themselves out.
I’ve long felt that one of the key ways to be a “pro life” democrat is to focus on things like:
The anti-Hillary tweet indeed sounds very infantile, poorly-thought out and just generally dumb. BUT —- how exactly is making fun of someone’s laugh “sexist”? Particularly if that someone is a high-profile politician? I’m asking out of geniune curiousity, not a troll-quest.
Have you ever heard of the term “intersectionality”?
It’s because they discovered the term “Bernie Bro” (white, straight, male caricature who is a “frat bro”) to demonize any support for Bernie Sanders... and with identity politics, it’s popular (and useful) to write off anything completely based on gender and race.... as long as it’s a white male.
It continues to amaze me how acceptable it is to demonize a specific race and gender. I guess that’s identity politics in a nutshell.
isn’t it grand that idiots come in all shapes and sizes and races and genders? thanks for sharing.
These are the kinds of threads and comments that make me really hate reading Jezebel sometimes. I’m not a white male, and I’d be chanting right alongside those people if I were at the convention. I guess the voices of non-white, non-male protesters don’t count. They are literally never acknowledged. It’s been this way…
I almost chalk it up to laziness and inefficiency more than anything.
Really? 100%?
