According to Weser, they were paid the same amount.

Maybe you just used a bad example, but I don’t see anything wrong with that scenario.
If you’re white, just don’t bother visiting Africa unless you want to be seen as racist. Stick to Europe.
Plantiffs probably shouldn’t have sued Cinemark (and were likely convinced by their lawyers who were seeing nothing but dollar signs)... but come on Cinemark, don’t grind the axe like that, it’s just in poor taste.
As the story notes, it is a tactic to keep the plaintiffs from appealing. I see it all the time. The plaintiffs will agree to not appeal, and the claim for fees and costs will be dismissed. And, yeah, you should if you are out 700K for a frivolous claim. I see people all the time bitch about what a sue-happy society…
Just because you can doesn’t mean you SHOULD.
I was talking about dill. Jeez.
It’s interesting to me that you’re lamenting your son thinking toys/movies/whatever with girls aren’t as good as those with boys and in the same breath saying “I hope the girls Ghostbuster’s is better, of course” — you’re actively hoping that the girls thing IS better. Why? Why make it a competition based on gender if…
My humble suggestion is that celebrities should wear fashion designers on the Red Carpet.
At least Erdely has recognized the need to retire from public life for a while. The same cannot be said of the blogger who so virulently attacked commenters for pointing out what turned out to be the major flaws in Erdely’s reportage. The mass predation of men upon women is at the heart of so many societal ills, and…
Your same productivity argument could be applied to men doing housework. Maybe they’re more efficient and get things done faster than a woman can? It’s not necessarily true, but we can make wild assumptions without backup too.
So by that measure, if we talk about the time women spend on child care or housework... do we need to quantify the amount of work they do to make it a worthwhile study?
agree. but christians, hindus, buddhists, etc. aren’t blowing themselves up and killing as many ppl as possible. you don’t have to say “radical islam” but hopefully you realize what it is, despite how non-representative it is of the entire religion. i don’t see how recognizing facts should be controversial.
almost always lead to misleading headlines
I’ve maintained this since reading the book in high school: Christopher McCandless was a stupid, naive, unprepared dink who thought he could piss in Nature’s face and get away with it. He got lucky a few times, but sooner or later if you don't respect Nature it will kill you dead.
Right, but in order to do the productivity calculation, you need to know how much time is being spent at work. And, this being an annual report, it’s useful to see how these numbers change over time, as a more easily divined metric than productivity.
Kind of like how tracking salary is pretty pointless without calculating quality of work done?
I totally get the annoyance with those headlines. But not with the study which seems to accurately account for the discrepancy in paid work hours.
That’s not a problem with the study, it’s a problem with the media.
Radicalized fundamentalist RELIGION (note I said religion, not naming any specific one), continues to bring out the absolute worst in humanity. Yet we can’t stop it. :(
