I’m also starting to have doubts that he’s a complete jackass, and might have instead just reacted to certain stressful situations poorly. I reviewed pretty much everything I could about him, his behavior, and his feud with Spheeris, and it seems to boil down to several specific instances:

Keep in mind that fatalities have gone down despite the fact that the number of people flying has gone up an insane amount. If you look at it from a deaths/# of flyers ratio, it’s unreal how safe flying is.
