I know this is a boring take, but speedbumps are intended to slow people down before they hit them, all to minimize risk of a car hitting something. These bumps (and the road design before in either direction) fails so hard that it makes it more dangerous - not only for the occupants, but for everyone in the vicinity.

they do... when smaller streamers do something noteworthy. Smaller streamers generally dont do anything newsworthy. Someone with 1 or 2 viewers isnt going to suddenly break the internet.

Because you clicked on this article and would have scrolled past the nobody.

It’s comments like this that keep me coming to Jalopnik.  Thank you!

Bentley needs to be more like Koenigsegg and build a car that’s so slow it only needs a one-speed transmission. Very irresponsible.

Don’t forget that this was at the same time that Quibi raised $1.9 billion in investment.

No matter what happened, if they had been in a 200hp car they probably would still be alive.

The show’s format was different, with episodes ranging from just four minutes to ten minutes

(Article is on this car enthusiast site becuase a Rolls Royce is mentioned in the story...)

Missing from the writeup, but in the NYT link:

“There’s a sucker born every minute.”

That’s a company I wish I worked for!

I work at a huge, multinational corporation with over 100,000+ employees. We made a decision to cease using “ X” months ago. We pulled all logos off our web sites, stopped all social media campaigns and ad buys. More or less cleaned our hands of them. I’m glad we did. The guy is an asshole and we want nothing to do

Musk’s own daughter literally changed her name because she doesn’t want to be associated with her father. More and more people are finally coming to the realization of his true character.

Were I in charge of a major corporation after the damage that Musk has done to Twitter, I would have let whatever ad contract I had with the platform expire and done only the minimum ads required by the contract.

Its not just video games - but why is it these CEO clearly screw up and make a mess of things yet remain employed? This sounds like string of bad management decisions. C-suite should pay the price. And not with a golden parachute - they should get the same severance any other employee gets. It amazes me with the focus

I completely agree with you.

One of life’s greatest mysteries is how little car salespeople know about the products they sell. It’s because most aren’t really in sales (mentally and skills wise). The real sales industry hustles to convince their clients they need to buy XYZ. Car dealers have had it pretty easy the past 130 years.

Worse yet, these are by the standard Gawker or I mean er uh the other webchain writers. They will come up with anything as long as it matches the quota they themselves demanded. I’m attempting to decipher how the fuck this article mattered to anyone.

How about every car that has a damaged tire shaft gets to sue who

Man I thought regular slideshows were bad, but they’re even worse for videos. Forget to stop the current video before click next slide and later realize there’s video still playing in the background from a few slides black.
