Shooting brakes for the win
Shooting brakes for the win
Ummm.... they succeeded?
I’ve seen damn near brand new Land Cruisers get body mount chops, lift kits, slider and wheels and tires to go play in. If you have the money and that’s what you want to do, go for it. I’m only going to judge you if you buy an offroad vehicle and doll it up and be a mall crawler.
Wrong. I see people taking new Jeeps and Toyotas up hills all the time. Even saw a restored Bronco out on the trails. I take my ‘94 Land Cruiser out at least once a month on the trails and those things are bringing stupid money these days.
I would rather spend my time crawling and being outdoors. You don’t have to live in a city for me to hate you. People these days just suck way more.
The stock weight of my ‘94 Toyota Land Cruiser is almost 5k pounds. Add in extra weight for upgraded shocks and springs (4" slee lift), ARB front bumper, smittybilt winch, snorkel, roof rack, dual rear swing out bumper, delta attic rack in the rear, and method wheels wrapped in 35's... all of this and your arguement…
Hey guys! I’m part of a few groups down here in Kentucky that do some trail riding and camping once a month. Typically our trail rides consist of varying groups (heavily modified, difficult, medium and light), but keep in mind we are a group of Toyota aficionados and we do have open rides where we see other makes come…
Depending on what you are overlanding in, you can potentially modify the interior of the vehicle to accommodate a sleeping quarters. I may be doing so on my ‘94 Land Cruiser soon. Else, just buy a decent ground tent for now and save your money. Also, ENO double nest hammocks with the bug nets and rainfly with a good…
This is why I drive a triple locked ‘94 Toyota Land Cruiser on 35's
Oh good. Ford revamped the Explorer Sport Trac.
Damn. Not airing down and no sliders resulted in a bad day. As for the rest of the vehicles in that video, I don’t care how much money you have put into your truck, if you don’t know how to use your lockers, pick a line, air down, and be prepared, it doesn’t do you a bit of good.
Come on down to Red River Gorge and wheel with us sometime. https://www.ridethedbbb.org/ for upcoming events or get with the facebook off road group out of Dayton. Some good guys in there that come down as well. Always a good time.... even if you do own a Jeep ;)
Couldn’t agree more with how cars and trucks are being promoted these days. You can’t blame manufacturers for appealing to those audiences, but there has to be some kind of limitation on that and/or common sense on the driver’s part and we all know that last part will never happen. Subaru’s are not going to all the…
Hey David.... used to live down the road in Troy (worked at Rainbow off of Big Beaver). Want an article to write up and help me wrench? I’ll drive up my triple locked ‘94 Toyota Land Cruiser (built off road truck) and we wrench for a weekend... low pressure ps hose replacement, bushing replacement on trailing arms,…
Or maybe the idea of driving in a manner that wouldn’t warrant being pulled over for suspected DUI? Guess we will just throw that out the window, huh?
If people (generally speaking) wouldn’t break the law to begin with, we wouldn’t need a PIT maneuver now would we? Sadly we don’t. We live in a world where people…
Nope. Suspected driving under the influence (if legit), not rolling down your window and not supplying identification is what caused this. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Can we get Lily from the ATT commercials?
Agreed, but the sticker price for a Raptor, SRT Ram, etc doesn’t justify it for me. I’m still all for more power in a truck (500+), but there really isn’t a place for it.... until you get caught ;)
True this was done, but for me this missed the mark. I believe this was ‘Yota’s way of making a street truck like the R/T Dakota but it just didn’t have the power with that V6 (cram a 5.7 in there!!!!). Besides, it’s a very niche market which is why this isn’t an option anymore.
So, here in the states, we have 2 options for something like this. The first was the X-Runner Taco. 6 speed manual, ex-cab that wasn’t bad, but nothing I would want. The other option is to buy a Pre-Runner Crew Cab Taco, lower it, and cram in something like a 2JZ.
