It does make an entertaining story. But....This points out a crap mechanic of the game. You're supposed to be this mythic character who is in charge of so many institutions in the game world but you can't control even simple aspects like this.

I’d want to finish so I can experience the end of the story I guess. If i finish the story though, the world feels more empty as I’m not moving towards anything and I won’t want to play more. Bittersweet I guess. Both of your points are valid though, they can send you to new areas.

It does seem all too common. Most of the collectibles aren’t necessarily hard to get or find. They are just time intensive and tedious especially with the ever increasing landscapes of games. I love that game worlds are getting big and interesting but I don’t want to scour every inch for a trophy.
