The best way to use Google Reader is the iGoogle widget. I organise things with labels, for example, 'automotive news' and just go through each label right clicking and opening in new tab, then read each tab. By far the most efficient way to do things imo.

I've been using DVD Flick for roughly a year now and find it incredibly easy to use.

@dchall8: To normalise your MP3s I suggest MP3Gain. Also, a lot of media players normalise your mp3s on the fly, namely Winamp.
