Americans cope backwards and scheme forwards.

Ugh. I struggled reading this. I think the author is a talented writer, and I know she wrote with the best intentions.

But there’s a few problems, here.

First is the scope. The article paints this as a video game problem. But you could write the same article about any fictional media that is created to appeal to an

While a new Ogre Battle game would be great, Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga is an outstanding homage with some Fire Emblem sprinkled in, and they keep updating it to make it even better and better. And all the updates are free! Highly recommended.

I don’t think they mean that the wall-moving ability from A Link Between Worlds was literally a predecessor to Ascend from Tears of the Kingdom, because you’re right, Ascend came from a debug ability, but I can see what they’re saying in retrospect. They both allow you to use the environment (walls and ceilings) as a

Geez, Brian, this is almost as crazy as that one time Quagmire found out love can bloom on a battlefield.

Secondly, it’s the complexity of the card. The more detail present, the more popular cards tend to be, and this terastallized Charizard is a spectacular piece of art”!!!!

Though the GamerGate trolls have lessened in number since 2014 (or perhaps many of them have slunk back to their dank caves to hit their Juuls, wank, and blow the embedded food crumbs out from the crannies of their keyboards)

This is very true.

Even amongst sports that have grown in popularity, you still see a great deal of consolidation around a central entity (such as the NFL, NBA, or MLB, leaving aside the antitrust issues for a moment), and in earlier days, financial difficulties within a league could easily result in team owners and

Wouldn’t have been the same without Alec Holowka’s amazing soundtrack work anyway. What a shame he was driven to suicide by incessant social justice seekers harassing him for deeds past and already apologized for.

People who are exceptional at one thing frequently assume that they must be exceptional at every thing. To make matters worse, we have a society that does everything in its power to back up this delusion. Then, to make matters EVEN worse, we live in a capitalistic hellhole where people don’t even need to ACTUALLY be

I think it’s weird when people act like spoilers only pertain to story and that there’s nothing else that anyone could want to not see ahead of time. Heck, the game is even named after the sense of wonder that they want you to feel as you’re surprised all the unexpected things that happen in the game which definitely

I feel the same. I recently replayed the original Sonic, and what struck me was that after Green Hill Zone, the game changes to be something slower and more deliberate.

It wasn’t good. Open world is fun when you can take your time and explore at your own pace, Sonic games are good when you can go with the flow and follow where it’s taking you, steering and jumping as necessary. You can immediately see the problem. If you just let the world take you where it wants you to, it’s fine,

People saying early Sonic games are all about constant speed are like people who think Star Wars movies are all about lightsabers. Yes there are always lightsabers, but 90-95% of the movie is not that, and you are only remembering it that way because it was the exciting part.

The best critique of South Park and one that’s come the closest to explaining why it rubs me the wrong way is that they always take the side of “not caring”. The end result is always that caring about anything is dumb and “both sides” are bad if either of them actually care.

Wait, he seriously had to audition for a role that was essentially his every time? Wow thats pretty crazy....

Yup to all of this. It would have made sense for Venom Snake to be Keifer with Naked still being voiced by Hayter. But given that nothing in MGS V makes any sense who’s to say.

I always liked how the laser hallway in the terrible Resident Evil movie was the one thing Roger Ebert liked about it:

At some point, you have to ask yourself about your own expectations for games (i.e. things we play to kill time for fun). We are entering into an environment socially now where everyone wants every single thing addressed according to their liking or articles get written like this. Had the devs/writers stopped to “more

As an actual journalist (with training! And union membership and looming deadlines and everything!), you’re right. The problem with this piece isn’t some silly shit about women players.
