I think E-sports has a long, long way to go before it really starts taking off. While there is a built in fanbase for competitive games, it’s as Nathan pointed out, it’s hard to bring new people in.

Considering it’s DeNA, it’s really not surprising that they packed up suddenly the moment the game stopped being profitable, since the company has a long, long history of doing just that for the mobile games they publish.
