I haven't watched this episode yet, but I'm very surprised to hear that Carl apparently got his face ripped off.

Yeah, but Daniel Rossen could probably make any venue into anyone's favorite venue…

That is really my biggest disappointment. I was so excited to see what they'd do with a new setting, and when they were talking about heading out to the desert I was stoked. But here we are, trapped in a suburb of LA.

I am extremely forgiving of TWD's faults, because for some reason I really like that show. But this just hasn't been a very good start.

Maybe Joakin Phoenix can host, and the show can be narrated by Joanna Newsom?

Hahah, so true. I was waiting for the Bolt Bus in Vancouver on Thursday and they were filming scenes for The Flash.

My favorite songs. My favorite songs. This list reminds me of the first time I went to space. It takes me back.

You're right, DS9 was a masterpiece. With about 10 minutes left in this episode, I can't help but think I'd probably rather be watching DS9 right now.

Daniela is almost outrageously attractive, in the same way that Lito kind of has an outrageously good body.

Yeah, Nico deserves a mention with that trio. Those EPs are exactly what I want him to be doing, tbh.

I know everyone has an opinion, but…. Natalie Prass, damnit!

Man I hope you're right. This mirror's my thoughts exactly, but I'm still refusing to get my hopes up until I see his face a year from now. The story really does need John up there.

Agreed. Maybe a copse of Weirwood trees between corpses would be good.

Are we really just taking it as a given that Jon is not permadead?

Europe didn't have a hoard of ice deamons to worry about? Honestly, it sounds to me like you just really want to have a problem with the pacing, which is totally fine. I personally don't see any issue with it.

In a word, yes. We're in a warming cycle right now, right? And that shit has been a source of heated discussion, contentiousness, and concern for the better part of a decade now. People won't stop talking about it until the issue comes to a head, or until we've convinced ourselves that we're safe.

I just looked it up, and the last "Long Night" (Walker Winter) was 8000 years before the Targaryen invasion. So a five year build-up doesn't seem that unreasonable.

I know he's not supposed to be in this season, but honestly the way this episode reignited the metaplot, it seems like this would have been a great time to check back in with Bran. I think the necessary minutes could have been found somewhere.

Nah, I know that but even on the extended Westerosi cycle they definitely aren't fighting Walkers every single winter. People didn't even believe they existed in earlier seasons.
