Just spitballing here… A helicopter crashes into the pub, a hostage situation arises at the pub, two of the cast members are dating, but they're BOTH having an affair with the quizmaster, one of the cast members is actually a ghost, but won't realize it until season 4, every season ends with a car accident.

I didn't even think of that. Didn't they show a scene with Frank searching for her? Or was that just Claire imagining him searching for her.

Tigh was alright, but Gaius Baltar 4 lyfe.

Yes. I'm enjoying this show to death, very much because of the atmosphere, production design, and music. If they keep giving the history and culture as much weight as the romance, I will be a super happy camper.

Haha, I think that was field hockey.

Y'know I haven't typically experienced that bias IRL though. My roommate's favorite author is Robin Hobb. C.J. Cherryh is one of my absolute favorites (I was joking about the initials thing, of course). Bujold has won about a million Hugos in a genre where the traditional target audience is men. Ann Leckie swept

Fancy that. And here I was holding out reading it because I distrust fantasy authors who publish under their initials. Needless to say, I'm missing out on a lot of highly recommended fantasy.

Nothing against you guys, but holy shit I'm glad this kind of stuff doesn't really bother me.

I'm pretty sure I can continue enjoying this show solely on the basis of the soundtrack and photography. Anything else it happens to do well is just the rasberry on the cranachan.

Huh, you're totally right about Murray being referred to as British. As a very casual tennis fan I always just assumed he was English. On the other side of that, I don't think I've ever heard a single commentator call Rory McIlroy anyting but Irish.

I know I'm way late on this, but I actually didn't mind the voice over. It gave the adaptation a living novel kind of quality that I enjoyed. I was a little bit baked, but it felt like I was watching an animated audiobook with little live action dialog scenes from time to time.

This season is just all kinds of awesome. What a treat!

I like them both a lot, but Magmar that is a bizarre statement. There something very singular about Tolkien, it actually feels like you're reading from the pages of a very ancient mythic tradition. The Silmarillion reads very much like Hesiod, to be honest. Martin might be a more sophisticated dramatist, but I think

Chapter One: King's Landing in the Seven Kingdoms in Westeros is a poem, a stink, a grating noise, a quality of light, a tone, a habit, a nostalgia, a dream. King's Landing is the gathered and scattered, tin and iron and rust and splintered wood, chipped pavement and weedy lots and junk heaps, sardine canneries of

For some reason my favorite line was from Tenzin, talking to his wife who candidly confesses she didn't like the Air nomad beds at first. Tenzin: "It's actually better for your back."

Hay! I am offense bye dat.

I was all set to donate, and then I realized that your brooms don't fly!? Dude, it isn't Quidditch if the brooms don't fly!

Episode 2 has the be the funniest episode LoK has done. Definitely on point. Really excited about the season now.

Ugh. That hits home.

I get super emotional about Voyager. Everything about the whole endeavor is so grand and optimistic.
