Yeah it’s a margarita, for all intents and purposes. I’d been putting orange bitters in margaritas for a while, just because I had them and I thought they would work well with the citrus nature of the drink. Then I kind of got on a michelada kick for a while, and I thought, why not add the savory, hot, and funky…

She talks about hunting down the manager the 2nd or 3rd time to cancel the order, but doesn’t really mention the previous interactions with the manager. Seems like an important part of the story. 

This whole bun thing is a non-issue to me. Is a hero (or wedge, grinder, sub, etc.) a sandwich? Those are on a baguette (akin to an unsliced hot dog bun) that is typically not sliced all the way through (again, like a hot dog bun). And yet nobody’s calling that an open-faced sandwich.

Hmm Franks would probably lend the drink a buffalo wing flavor... not sure it’d be exactly what you’re looking for. If you want a milder green sauce that Tabasco Green is good. But you’re only adding 2 drops per drink of the yucateca so it’s not going to light you up.

They ordered more than that. They gave up after only receiving that much food in 3 hours! Come on- 3 hours!

What’s the difference between an 8-top and two 4-tops? Especially in a sushi place where you’re not worried about food getting cold for the most part.. How popular are “sushi boats?” Seems like a sushi place, of all places, should be more than able to expo a large order relatively quickly and on time.

Why are you assuming it was a small restaurant? They had a back room to accommodate them, so it couldn’t have been that small.

Oh get out of here. A restaurant should be able to handle a large party. Plus if you’re a waiter, you’re getting a big ticket, and thus a big tip. When I waited tables, I never understood the other waiters who would bitch about a big table.

Why didn’t you ask to speak to the manager?

I hear there’s a monetary reward if you get your hands on one to the tune of a hundred bucks. But be careful, they’re slippery!
