A really nice-looking car will look great in white. Silver doesn’t do anything for me, unless it’s like an 63 Vette or an old Mercedes SL convertible.

In case you’re serious - next time you cook a steak in a cast iron pan, try butter basting it - let some aromatics (garlic, shallots, thyme, etc.) sizzle in some butter and continuously spoon the butter over it while it cooks. You definitely won’t want or need sauce if you nail the temperature. 

HP is probably closest to Peter Lugers steak sauce, which I grew up with and loved, but now find abominable

All of these are trash and are no match for a basic pan sauce, which can be whipped up while your steak is resting if you need to gild the lily

I gotta say, regularly reading your food column, this is not surprising. I’m often mystified by what you write. It always reminds me of that Olive Garden Lady that became viral a few years ago.

I get that the tuner crowd loves these things (and the “bulletproof” engine), but they’ve never appealed to me.

You should look into your local library’s offerings before springing for Audible. A lot of overlap, and the library is free.

You just have to get the grind size right on that Bodum. Every grinder is kind of different, but we’re dialed in now. I use a Capresso Infiniti and brew it on the finest medium grind setting, and brew it using just the metal filter. 30 second soak and then slowly pour the rest - comes out really good.
