While I can’t claim to be a fan of Mr. Sanders, he is correct in this case. Being in prison doesn’t somehow remove your citizenship, and it certainly doesn’t eliminate your basic human rights.

This is what kills me with this country. Even if things help you and society broadly, everyone is super obsessed with how it will help those who are “undeserving”. I feel it has to come from our Puritan roots or something. Sickening.
Lol, anyone who thinks Buttigieg is the most intelligent because he’s learned that speaking in non politician speak has advantages is easily manipulated.
Ohhh all the Buttigieg-ers are big mad in the comments. Has he released an actual policy yet? Has he done something other than being a white dude in the midwest with an ivy league and military pedigree to deserve the attention that he’s getting? https://www.southbendtribune.com/news/opinion/viewpoint/viewpoint-diversit…
Billionaires shouldn’t get to vote.
If the most intelligent person in the race
They don’t have to deal with the healthcare system, because they receive treatment in prison.
Can we get an article around how astro turfed these harvard centrist society people where? Theres Koch Institute intern letters on their twitters for christsake
Honestly glad that Pete Buttigieg is such a feckless idiot that he doesn’t realize the way that the prison-industrial complex has been weaponized to remove voting rights from communities of color. He’s too shrouded in his own neoliberal white privilege, and that tells me that he’s going to be a flash in the pan thank…
“there’s a hundred thousand people who became felons due to nonviolent drug offenses who’d be re-enfranchised.”
Bernie? Seriously? Did you think about this at all Bernie? If we allow criminals to vote can you imagine the kind of scumbag we might elect as President? I bet if we let terrible criminals vote we’d end up with some kind bigot criminal celebrity game show asshole President who constantly lies and uses the Presidency…
oooh I love this thing where one person just makes laws instead of the legislature
Congress apparently has little urge to rein in Executive Branch power, thus we may be looking at wild swings in executive action policies with each subsequent election.
In her last town hall, Harris said that she supported getting rid of private insurance. A few days later, she backpedaled on that stance.
There’s far more on the other side splitting votes between them. Sanders or Warren is almost certainly going to get at least a plurality of delegates before the convention whichever is behind will drop out (and maybe be announced as the other’s VP pick in some very out in the open backroom dealing), which…
Stupid, yeah, but also standard operating procedure. How many years of no raises to the minimum wage has the 1% wrung out of the catchphrase that burger workers getting $12/hr is an insult to other working people? Their entire MO is to get working stiffs riled up at other working stiffs for getting a slightly-larger…
Her not being stronger on Healthcare is why I’m not voting for her in the primary. Granted, I’m lucky enough that both mine and my wife’s student debts are paid off, but my wife still can’t afford her medications and that’s too big an issue for me to ignore.
Guess this means the students can sue the government now? After all, the CBP showed up and incited the protests to begin with, which certainly sounds like “interference with the peaceful conduct of an educational institution”to me.
yeah, this seems legit. <insert all the snowflake emoji’s here.gif> These cops..sweet jebus.
