Surprised that the Delorian wasn’t mentioned anywhere here.

I agree with this general time period. I just finished building a ‘91 Supra as a daily driver, and with everything working and refreshed, and a modern touchscreen head unit with CarPlay, it’s everything I want out of a daily. It drives amazing, has ABS, airbag, decent crash protection, a very comfortable ride and

A close friend of the family had this car’s twin, albeit a Challenger, but in silver. It was a very neat car, very well screwed together IIRC. My other friend had a Fire Arrow, also a 5 speed, and that thing was a blast. Pretty much indestructible too.

Fellow Jalops - I got you.

The things people save. Makes you just scratch your head.

My dad had one of these. It got totaled by a deer and sat in our garage for almost two decades with my dad swearing eventually he would get it back on the road. He really loved that car, alas life got away from him and he had to sell it a few years back.

It really depends on how you define better. I can’t talk to all old cars so I will talk about what I know. I drive an 80 series Land Cruiser, which many feel is the peak of old school and new school and one of the best products Toyota ever made.

My father had a brand-new Plymouth Arrow with the 2.6 and a 5-speed and he could make that sucker DANCE. It was bright blue with a white vinyl interior, the only options were an AM radio and a rear defroster, and I LOVED IT.

Not included in the list is the Proton Satria GTi:

Yes, yes, y’all.. a 2.6L four cylinder. IIRC, the car mags of the day hailed it as the largest 4 production 4 cylinder engine “in the world” at that time. Was also the first time I heard of “balance shafts”. How far we’ve come.

I had intended this to be a strictly non-factual slideshow

“A Mustang! But with those German amber rear side markers”

Not to mention the side mounted signals on the wing aft of the wheelwell. Helps to divine a drivers intentions* if you’re riding or walking along side them.

*requires drivers to activate turn indicators at some point** before casually sweeping the lever as they

Does the 2ZZ-GE engine count too? Offered on the Elise as well as Toyota’s own Celica, Corolla and Matrix, and also the Vibe

Breathtaking condition.

It has CrO2 tape capability! All I remember about that feature was that is was a button/switch that was occasionally activated by accident and had to be turned off or the sound was super shitty. Good times.

Luckily that level of distraction never caught on and people focus on driving now!

My museum of Unknown Cars of the 80's has closed due to covid and lack of interest.  Who would have thought that cars nobody cared about in the 80's still wouldn’t be cared about today... live and learn.  Anyway, since it’s closure, I don’t have a need for this prime example of a car nobody cared about when new so I

I want to know more about the owners, what else do they have stored away?

What, no pic of the nifty overhead console?? That was the only thing kinda cool about these cars..
