If you want to know how Germany produces more cars while paying the workers twice as much this article linked below. will help.
That sounds like quite a haul.
I’m pretty biased as I often Eulogise the bubble era cars. I have a Corolla Alltrac from 1988 and is incredibly reliable and thought out design. I was really young when these cars came out but to me they represent the last blast of optimism and clean slate design - particularly Japanese…
I’m not convinced that the downfall or the Aus car manufacturing was due to Union alone (I don’t think you are saying this either) like some people are convinced.
But in Germany it is mandated to have Union representatives on the management board. Therefore they are part of the stakeholder team making the decisions.…
I would have thought we’d be seeing a better range of autonomous cars now the boomers are getting on a bit. There is a huge market there for safe, reliable autonomous get me to the shops and medical appointment cars that only need a limited range and a variety of fueling options.

Totally agree. I got my user name from the family down the road (Fitzroy, middle of Melbourne) that keep two of these sedans on the road as daily drivers and one for parts in the back laneway. Keeping gentrification at bay! theirs are the straight 6 (not V6)
Great cars, I know one of Australias foremost Architects with a penchant for vintage Lancias and could afford anything he wants has a Tarago of this generation for his Tasmanian Holiday house / airport run.
I was thinking of the view out... look at the greenhouse of the Previa compared to the new car.
Don’t forget its a wide angle lens as well so things look a lot further away.
“literally everything about the new Sienna is head and shoulders above the old guard Previa.” - Howabout Visibility for passengers and driver?
Easy on the old Torana chum!
