I’ve had both a Mk1 Golf and a same model year to the Torana Holden Sunbird but I Couldn’t compare them. I don’t really think they were in the same class.. Especially for repair bills.

I remember this ad as a kid in the UK it was Strada there as well not Ritmo
Flexible panels are the way to go. very low profile. 7mm thick.
it looks like a 79 series landcruiser used for safari to me from the profile although the rear door does look like a land rover.
Apparently over two thirds of the stolen Land Cruisers from Australia end up in the middle east - half way around the world.
The 70 and 200 series followed by the HiLux are pretty well the cars I most identify with Australia. Almost everyone I know has had a roadtrip in one and they are everywhere when you go outback.
It’s the only 4wd you can buy that doesn’t pretend to be ‘sporty’ or macho.
Thats not a comparison test. This is a comparison test. #betterthoughtoutreplies
This australian comparison replaces the Wrangler 4 cylinder with the V6 and leaves out the Merc for a Landcruiser and compares on some much harsher Australian tracks which have claimed some lives of late.
This trooper went beyond the call of duty. Many like to rubbish police but say what you like about cops at least in Australia its been found that police contribute to charity more than any other profession.
Interesting that the gear stick is on the right hand side of the transmission tunnel. Is this because they thought they would sell the manual more in the UK as a Right Hand Drive where they like them with a stick (but then europe is mostly LHD so I dunno).
I took the plunge and bought the Australian version of the VW T3 Westfalia conversion called a Trakka for $17,000 Aus. I couldn’t find anything else that was so compact but got had seatbelts and beds for four and as I told my wife it is an appreciating asset - they do have heaps of character and actually drive well…
this is the best I could find. more amusing than a joke but still.. its close enough.
About 15mins by bicycle each way into the CBD. I have moved a few times to be closer to places of employment. But I get to enjoy driving on weekends out of the city in my manual cars as they would suck in the city. I’m really lucky because my apartments car park is not allotted parks and only about 50% of the owners…
Thinking a few of those are from Hokkaido or the snow country looking at more than a little surface rust on a few shots
As reported last year in Australia.
For when the 2cv breaks down.
That is the laneway my work is on in Melbourne Australia. $50 it’s Hozier Lane Melbourne
I was in New Zealand in winter 2001 and the Audi engineers were based in the hotel doing winter testing on these. Much beer. plenty weiner. very cold start. Always wanted an A2. So far ahead of their time.
If you look around you can find kits to replace that model Yaris head unit. We got one for our early model Mazda 3 and was able to add smartphone mirroring.
