Not classically beautiful like an E-type or a Dino but it has the ability to look both practical, handsome and timeless like very few cars and to me the engineering is completely entwined.

Sure. HP is important but what about Torque? A lot more important with loads and storming up to the mountains in winter (where an electric motor should work better with the altitude and oxygen starvation).
So, tell me how my 1988 All Wheel Drive, Manual, Wagon that is easy upgradeable and eminetly wrenchable is not Jalop and leave me brain dead. At its worse its a great parts getter for my European cars and costs me nothing to run. Its the goto reliable car in my family and everything works like it did 30 years ago.
I wouldn’t have worried about the bearings so much. It probably corroded completely away before it got halfway across the English Channel!
