I am going to go with the w210 E55 AMG. They sell under 10k all day, and are about the fastest sedan you can buy in this price range. 0-60 in under 5 seconds, 1/4 mile in the 13s, top speed of over 150mph. They also have room for even your tallest friends in the back seat, with a trunk true to the "maffia car"…
2005 Volvo S60R for $5700. Beautiful inside and out, even has the blue leather seats. Only drawback is its an automatic, but I could "suffer" through it. Plenty of money left over for an IPD exhaust and IPD tune.
this. ive tried explaining this but I think your average jalop is a huge hipster. Buying station wagons is not mainstream buying stick is not mainstream buying diesel is not mainstream buying brown is not mainstream buying old Volvos and Mercedes from the 80's and 90's is not mainstream. Buying an e30 over leasing a…
Jalopnik is the very ethos of the "We don't get it here, it must be awesome" nerd rage. It's a bunch of teenage kids that are never going to buy one to begin with, but get all angsty because it's not offered. No clue why, diesels suck.
As a European it's fascinating for me to read an American take on what is essentially the blandest form of transportation on our roads. Walking through the office car park and it's lousy with Audi A4 Avants with 2.0TDI badges and manual boxes and you trip over at least a dozen BMW 530d wagons, also with three pedals.
So step #1 is make lots of money for 18 years and save up? Got it, very helpful.
I'm pretty sure Durant's whole persona is crafted by a table of "Yes" men ran by Michael Yormark (and Yormark is at least a 2 parts crazy control freak/living embodiment of inspirational speaker rhetoric).
Indeed. I still own an rsx type s. Oil is all it really needs to keep going. 12 years old, 170k miles. Just replaced the factory clutch, front struts and rear sway bar links. Everything else is still going strong. Well ive replaced the brakes too...and put gas in it.
I owned one of these. I replaced the following in ~12 months of ownership.
If we know anything about people who write for Gawker, it is that they will stand by a story, and defend themselves when proven they a wrong in the comments section, and then admit they were wrong in the comments section but don't update the main article. The commitment to the original narrative is always admirable.
Not sure if that's sarcasm or not...
Also did 95mph, and then OMG state trooper in the median! Zoomed round the next corner and dove off the exit before he came around that corner (if he did come out after me). Never saw him again, and I cooled down for the rest of the day. Whew *wipes sweat off brow*
I'm one of the few Jalops that has a Camry and its very very hard to defend owning it I know. What it came down to was I have long commute that is almost all highway miles (60+ a day) and except for holidays its bumper to bumper just about the whole way. I needed something that was reliable and easy on gas and that I…
Well, it definitely still needs a bit of work, as it's rubbing, throwing sparks from the front right tire at the 1:39 mark.
I live in Southern California, and I use Bro sarcastically. Surprised it's not common down here because I hear it all the time.
Great tactic actually. If history has told us anything about Kobe, it's that first comes the assault, then comes the ring.
America's Prince is not impressed by your "royalty," UK.
