Umm yes they are terrible. Not in a pushing old ladies over, stealing, comic book kind of way.. but your friends are terrible.
You ask me, supporting a racist rapist who has zero policies and only stokes bigotry and hatred makes someone a pretty terrible person. But, then again, I’m a queer woman whose friends are largely women, queer folks, and POCs. You know, the people Trump and his followers hate and plan to punish for existing.
No one is safe from him. If he wins, he becomes commander-in-chief of our military forces. And I don’t trust him and his ENORMOUS ego to keep his TINY hands off that nuke button. I’m terrified right now. And it’s strange to be so scared while so many people I know are cheering and excited.
No, fuck you for pushing that “both cadidates are bad” nonsense. That’s why we’re in this situation.
NO. Sorry, but no. This is not Hillary Clintons fault. This is the fault of the people who voted for Donald Trump in spite of every monstrous thing he’s said and done for the past 50 years, and of anyone who didn’t take it seriously or thought it couldn’t happen. This is the fault of anyone who doesn’t know shit about…
Most of the people I know who like him aren’t bad.
Look no further than my home state Florida... Johnson is getting 200+k votes while Hillary is losing by less than 140+k votes as I type this. I am seething at the holier-than-thou, protest-voting pieces of shit that can’t or refuse to realize that voting for leader of the free world is not picking your bff but…
I have a lot of foolish friends who support him as the #NotHillary, stick-with-the-party vote. They are assuredly foolish, but not terrible people. And I pity them because they’re so misguided.
I was so not prepared for this. Not even remotely ready. You know where my head was at four hours ago? I was on cloud nine about going on alt-right Twitter and witnessing the meltdown with their conspiracy theories and blaming the Jews. Now this is real. I can’t stomach this shit.
I’m very sad right now. I just spoke to one of my best friends, she voted for the first time. She did not vote for the presidential election. She has a gay sister. She said she did not feel like she “had anything in common with Hillary”. I was like what about gay marriage?? Don’t you care about that? She’s like well…
“Lesser of two evils”
It’ll never end, but Deadspin is sleeping on the couch for awhile.
I mentioned this in another thread, but it bears repeating here. Folks who insist their vote doesn’t matter because they live in a blue state - or hell, even a red state - take a hard look at the voting habits of your entire state.
I’m a blue dot in Texas. And while my vote might not matter right now, it might very well matter in the future. Voting now can set the tone for what our future can become. This little drop could one day become a small pond, a river, a lake.
If by some strange horrible longshot Trump wins, I will cease to speak to anyone who insisted on voting for Stein or Johnson because “I shouldn’t have to vote for the lesser of two evils” or “Clinton is a liar and murderer” or “they are both terrible” or “I don’t have to follow the crowd” or “If everybody would vote…
This isn’t shade. It’s an outright, full-frontal assault at this point.
Tell Black North Carolinians or Latino Nevadans that voting doesn’t matter.
