Agreed 100%!

This is soooo creepy!

My experience was similar last week, half empty theater on a weeknight except some jerks brought their 2 year old who loudly disrupted every quiet moment of the film so that I wished I had waited to stream it.

That was my first thought too. Iconic LA artist...Eminem???

Yeah exactly! Hard core Catholics were so mad about Vatican II in the 1960s (the first modernizing reform in centuries) that it directly led to a huge rise in exorcisms (aka torture of the mentally ill) as well as the satanic panic which ruined countless lives.

Another example: Dr Oz who was a very respected heart surgeon, now a total woo slinging quack. Smart people are just as susceptible to logical fallacies as the rest of us.

Time has always been garbage since the beginning of Time.

Thank you!

The movie thing was baffling to me. I thought it was established that he wants to watch Christmas movies with his KIDS. He’s not sad that he’s missing The Santa Clause, he’s sad that he’s missing quality time with his family. Taking a break to get drunk and watch movies is the exact opposite of what Kate should do to

But if we ALSO support a bunch of authoritarian regimes, doesn’t that sort of dilute the message?

Foreign aid is one thing but military aid feels like a different thing altogether.

So these back door subsidies you speak of are just another way public money is funneled into private hands while public services that should be financed by public monies keep getting cut? Is this supposed to be good for society?

I mean, why can’t Israel fund their own missile defense? I am not against international spending to help with humanitarian crises, especially when in many cases we either directly or indirectly caused those crises but Israel is a relatively rich country why are we propping up their military spending? So they can

Depends on the size of the hospital. Where I worked our night shift was 4 nurses and a tech. If we’d all quit that would be half the staff - a massive blow.

My take, as a nurse? It’s because you don’t need to understand the ‘why’ of something to be a highly skilled and competent nurse who gives great care and is good at their job.

The hospital I worked at (in upstate NY) did not require annual flu shots. They encouraged them and offered them for free but you didn’t have to get it. If you did not get a flu vaccine you were required to wear a mask during flu season. Many nurses I worked with opted for this and then basically took the mask off

As someone who worked as a nurse in a small regional hospital in upstate NY you would not believe how nuts parts of the state are and medical personnel are not exempted from the crazy. I had an RN supervisor who vehemently ranted about how much she hated teachers because they were all “liberal scum bags” (it came up

As someone who grew up in those shitty crammed together suburbs but still had to drive everywhere, I am completely 100% in agreement with you but on the reverse side. I just want to walk everywhere I need to be and forget about the hassle of driving and parking and all that. I frequently feel like my fellow citizens

Seriously this. Signed, an ortho nurse.

Even like hiking or throwing a frisbee?
