Meanwhile, a lot of the TSA employees are still waiting for their backpay from the govt shutdown.

Look, I think we all agree the idea of a Space Force is nice, in a utopian society. But let’s be realistic and look for REAL solutions. For instance, an expanded tax credit that will allow people to purchase insurance on the open market that they can use towards buying a cardboard box that they labelSpace Force” on

You laugh, but I guarantee he’s going to say something like, “We’ve never been that close. Y’know, it’s too bad, he and I could have been so close. So close.  But now, I guess he doesn’t love his father, huh?  Family is important to me. Family. Family...! Family.”

“I know many, many people with the name Donald John Trump Jr.”

It’s stupid to focus in on, but Trump saying “he got coffee” so often is funny as the guy doesn’t even drink coffee. It’s just what he imagines interns do.

I hate that I live right near a trump golf course. Whenever I see the sign I flip it off.

Honestly, let her be.  People forget that Dems could use this kind of firepower in the House and Senate.  She keeps kicking down doors like this, she’ll be in Presidential primaries soon enough.  No need to rush it.

Oh but AOC is dumb. Haven’t you heard she’s dumb? Every Twitter CHUD thinks so. My Bernie loving brother sure thinks so. Tons of asshats on Facebook agree.

Respectfully to your last point, I love the enthusiasm, but I think she’s exactly where she needs to be for now: Congress needs more young, progressive members uncorrupted by status quo politics of the last several decades—she’s providing a fantastic example of how to question and combat the evils we’re up against. I

Also she managed to make it relate directly to her district (no surprise given her district) but still it lays to waste any criticism that she’s too busy being a bamf on these big picture things to be focusing on her district. More people should really use her as an example of how to do just that.

She was quick, poised and an example to all.

Fuck anyone who would make fun of you for affirmations!

Getting a positive THOUGHT out about ourselves, let alone words, is SO MUCH WINNING!

You TELL that reflection it’s awesome. TELL it!! <3

I agree that the ideal would be a world where appearance was irrelevant and bodies were valued only for housing humans who can do all kinds of extraordinary things, from climbing mountains to writing masterpieces to giving birth to other humans. But we don’t live in that world, and it seems to be a long way off. So in

I think it’s ok to find these kind of photos empowering. It’s also ok to be offended. I was horrified by the sight of my body after giving birth the first time. This would have (at the time) shown me that it is NORMAL to be puffy. Normal to not fit into the jeans I wore six months before. I thought i would shrink

All I have to add to this discussion is that the phrase “yummy mummy” seriously bothers me for some reason.

It’s good that the definition of “beautiful” is being extended. However, I think it’s a lot more important that we stop using “beauty” as the currency of women’s value. Women are valuable and deserve to value themselves whether or not they can be considered “beautiful”.

I don’t understand this article. Things that are, apparently, a nono:

I think you might be simplifying this here. The exact same process away from social media and the commodification display has always taken place in small group settings and in personal experience narratives shared by women in face-to-face communication. This has, as several studies have shown, proven to be a helpful

i really miss my boobs.
