I totally went through ME2 like a renegade boss without any guides or anything. When I found out that you could lose crew in the mission if you didn’t plan it right, made me even more assured of my tactical prowess.

Same, being a completionist, I went though, made choices and everything went so smooth I didn't think anything could go wrong.

It’s my bad. I’m old enough that the Chinese diaspora is not mainland Chinese. And from what I’ve seen, admittedly anecdotal, you’re right.

You’re right really. Given my age and disposition, I should be wary of making blanket statements like that. Admittedly, I didn’t always think that way. Growing up, I just assumed that it was the Asian way, tiger parents were the cultural norm for many immigrants - mine included. When I ended up going into the

You’re definitely on point with the “survival and living” comes first. My father is frugal to the point of misery (despite splurging on the most inane purchases because it was a ‘deal). I fully concede that my views are completely based on anecdotal data, but I grew up with a lot of dysfunctional Chinese families

Growing up Chinese has left me wondering if Chinese people like anyone. Shit, our family can barely tolerate each other for more than a few hours before it goes to hell.

Take this with a grain of salt, but my kids were playing video games during this pandemic and then their heads exploded. We couldn’t afford to pay for the funeral and have just left the mess by the television.

I’m surprised you feel this way. I kind of think of his flat uninspired delivery as his trademark.

I’d totally buy a John Wick Nendoroid... Me one Good Smile Company!

Man, that’s a rom I wouldn’t mind having at all. I wonder what kind of fun stuff they put in KOF 99.

I remade my Commander Shepard like 8 times in ME3 because the model I perfected in ME2 didn’t quite make the transition well into its sequel.

One of my friends also looks very much like Keanu Reeves, but alas, a much younger version.

Oh absolutely, I’m not a heavy-handed person by any means. I mean, my own family are Chinese nationalists, so I have plenty of experience in letting it go. My parents are far more gung-ho about the Han ascendancy due to them experiencing racism in the West, than my wife ever as or is. She’s started questioning the

I have a similar issue with my wife, except that she received indoctrination about China at a young age. She’s started to see through it just by living in the West for a long time, but it can be hard to let go of something you’ve been taught for your entire life.

We rely on the law all the time, but there are kinks and loopholes all over the place because human beings are slippery motherfuckers. I’m aware you didn’t say we shouldn’t have law, but if we don’t implement it, we can’t work on making it better either.

That doesn’t sound like a pleasant conversation, but you must have finessed the hell out of it since you guys are married and all.

Is there some kind of subtext I’m missing? That doesn’t seem to be an original joke, or sentiment. It’s something everyone has probably experienced over the course of the last 40+ years.

All I ever wanted was more xenogears, but the lack of plot progression in the series does nothing for me. Not interested in new universes at this point.

I thought console war was fairly quiet during the PS4/XbOne period. I rarely saw anyone post about it whereas in the PS3/360 era, fandom flames could dominate entire threads in the Kotaku comment section - days.

I’m not sure why there’s so much hate, Kotaku really does a have a lot more editorialized content than before. It reminds me of the PS5 review that ended on a strange political note on the ethics of spending that kind of money on something so superfluous during a serious pandemic.
