Right. There are legitimate businesses where the culture is one where they sell you the job. A lot of financial industry and insurance companies do this. Some require you to pay for some training, some do not. There's always exception to the rule. The key here is to be aware of the signs and weigh them out.

I wouldn't classify that as a job scam. Ritz is (was) a legitimate company. But that is definitely sketchy.

Yes, they are inexpensive. I've never paid more than $5 for one at any store, but I've also never paid more than $2 for a toothbrush. I've also had one of my two for about 15 years.

This has always been my experience. These items seem to be priced for the customer who will be putting them on the company credit card they never see a bill for.

Storage is a premium at my place so that might be too much for me. The reason I'm replying, though, is that my wife insists the generics don't work nearly as good as Mr. Clean does. I find they work just as good, but it is a frustration that they break apart so much more easily.

While their work wonders on coffee mugs and kitchen appliances that need to be brought back to their better days, it's worth nothing that melamine does transfer. I'd be sure to do a good wipedown with with a wet cloth after using this on something that will contact food or beverage.
