Now it makes sense. I always envisioned the person being jarred out of their spasm by the water splashing into their face.
My cure is to intensely focus on anything other than the hiccups for 10 seconds. Drinking, holding your breath, and such things can fit into this, but all I do is pick and object, stare it down, and describe things about it to myself for that ten seconds. This has worked for me without fail for 20 year. Well,…

Whew. 'Cause that title was screaming craziness!
I laugh at the Xbox One deal because i was scouring Amazon a few days ago and noticed that someplace had it available for a whopping $0.99 (US) savings.
Most of my TV watching these days is racing, politics and news, and football, heavy the second during the week. I'm usually doing precisely the same thing I would be doing otherwise — watching all my feeds and engaging with those watching the same thing on TV. Those things tend to be such that you can do a lot of…

Please do not get your news from the checkout line of the grocery store.
I take the topics that I find really interesting or really significant and dig in. The news is so often much deeper than can be revealed by a headline or even an article or two. And in today's media, there's such an attempt to editorial news or be incomplete in reporting.
I like event based. I'm no photographer and don't have any (of what I would call) special needs, so I organize using Picasa. This, like most image software I have toyed with, will sort photos by date. This makes it easier for me because I'm more likely to remember having participated in [this event] but not as…
