At this point, I won't mind being treated like shit as long as it's the paycheck is consistent and sufficient. I've got the disposition to handle crappy treatment and under-appreciation so long as formal assessments are reflective of the work I do.

I don't get it. As in, what point was being made? I have missed the joke. Or I haven't and it was so obvious, I'm thinking there has to be more. Note that I don't get the popularity of Annoying Orange either.
Glad someone was here to tell me that says "first" and not "final".
Not sure if serious.
Printshop. Sure you can make a greeting card. You're gonna have to delete everything on your hard drive first.
Anyone found/know of a good alternative to Live Mesh. I've lost the ability to login to my account and my wife has completely lost access to the account she used for the live services. Mesh has been the only thing I've been able to sync the things I want to sync and sync them consistently. For instance, because of…
Bummed out right now. Almost 2 1/2 years ago, the family and I made a move to a new state to help get the ship righted. Come the end of the upcoming week, if there isn't a miracle, the ship will not be righted and we'll be forced to move back home with family. It's a rather miserable reality. And it makes it hard…
I drew the line at keeping the ME discs. And the AOL disc. :D
I agree. I can envision the same ergonomic effect by having some sort of riser to position the trackpad angled above a ergonomically designed keyboard.
Sometimes the question is okay. As hard as it is for me to answer, at least it seems fitting. In this case, it had become pretty obvious that they weren't looking for someone to amaze them, but were looking for someone that fit perfectly into the rigid box they had in mind. Their position was a glass slipper and…
I tried essentially that response. At that point, I didn't think the interview was going well and I had my reservations about the company. I would've accepted the position if offered, but given I didn't have what I felt was a better answer and given that I didn't feel like we were impressed with each other, there…
The question I have the most trouble with is, "What makes you unique?" How do others answer this?
I don't think it's a slippery slope as you have to learn what is appropriate to not actively commit to memory. From your examples, I didn't spend any time trying to remember my wife's SSN because anytime I would need it, I would be dealing with something she was going to have to sign so I'd just ask her before I…
Great thinking. And the DIYers around here would be able to throw together this mod without even breaking a sweat, I'm sure. But I was disappointed to scroll through and not see any pictures of here steps to modify the draw, ultimately finding this in the comments.
A bit surprised by the comments that are looking at this article at a very superficial level. I've come to expect LHers to be more thoughtful in their critique. Then again, it's a quotation, so if it doesn't hold as deep insight for you as it does for me, then I suppose that's okay.
I read he comment as expressing that the time spent memorizing information that is not immediately essential means one would have to sacrifice time that could be better devoted to accomplishing what is immediately necessary.
Everyone should learn economics, too, but that's not going to happen. There's a lot of things everyone should learn to do, but that's the thing about modern industrial/technological societies. We won't all do it because we can get by without it as long as enough other people know how to do it. "Everyone should…
Neither do the people that get in everyone else's way. I doubt you make anyone's trip unbearable. We have a tendency to exaggerate things when it inconveniences us. Sure, I'd rather everyone go with the flow, but it ain't gonna happen so why get out of sorts over it, right? The only thing about a trip to Ikea…
Correction. Keep large insects of of sugary drinks.... Because this isn't going to stop the little ones. Nice idea, though.
I think that depends on the material used. Growing up, we used this black screen purchased in rolls. It was very forgiving. There was an issue with ripping it where it was attached to the framing, because we'd always manage to throw baseballs and footballs through it. I think that stufff would work great for this.…
