And that particular area in Death Valley is called Furnace Creek. For comparison, my furnace shuts off its burner when the pipe going through it reaches 120F, which is pretty close to the air temperature there during the summer day.
And the normal reaction to that in any other occupation would be check the number and run it again, instead of immediately escalating the situation in the worst possible way.

You nailed it. I worked at a tier-1 automotive electronics supplier and that was pretty much our finding in numerous HMI studies. But the car makers usually have their mind set before drafting the design, with decisions made by people who weren’t event into driving.
The car is basic which is alright, I just don’t get why the fans keep saying it’s more “upscale” than its competitors.
That’s also the 1st thing I noticed - all SUVs and large CUVs. Maybe parking garages should start limiting the spaces for heavy vehicles so that they can only park near the load supporting structures (pillars, etc) and the bottom basement level.
