Hey, fellow essential federal worker here. Yep, working for no pay is *awesome.* Fuck them all.

I'm pretty sure it's not banned in NYC. Periodically someone proposes a rule that would ban it but AFAIK it never gets passed/enacted. This article is a bit old but I am pretty sure nothing has changed since then. I don't live in NYC anymore so someone who does can correct me if I am wrong. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/

Wait, what? A Jezebel group on Rav????????? Why am I not there?

I get that, but law school isn't like that. It's not conceivable that any student, let alone multiple students, would have a schedule like that.

It's quite a bit cheaper in Europe if you have a friend or relative who goes back and forth and is willing to smuggle it in for you.

Didn't get into Amherst? (Sorry.)

It's interesting that you chose the Dutchess as your example, because when she came out to show the baby to the press a day after she delivered, she still looked pregnant (as do all women 24 hours after delivering) and she didn't try to hide it at all. Yes, she had no choice but to be photographed due to tradition,

Ha! Totally. I remember actually waiting for the next book to come out, and I was in 4th grade in 1983, which is about when I started the series. Mid-90's? I was already a college graduate.

Oh, yes — I agree. I would have done the same thing you did for fear of being photographed.

My LC advised that if I wanted to have a beer or glass of wine, the best time was actually while the baby was nursing; since the alcohol will essentially clear your system including milk in 2 hours, you'll be good to go when he wants to nurse again.

Alcohol does enter breastmilk in minute amounts. That doesn't stop me or millions of other nursing moms throughout history from having a beer or glass of wine on occasion. If you're really concerned, you can pump and dump, or just wait the 2 hours or so it takes for the alcohol to clear the bloodstream and milk

Our grocery store carries it (and it's not fancy). Trader Joe's also has a delightful store-brand FF plain yogurt they call "greek-style."

Nutria fur makes nice coats.

"Mark Wahlberg's real penis (Boogie Nights) - it was a prosthetic." I think that's the point - this item is under "things that didn't make it in" — meaning the "real penis" was not in the movie.

In one of the articles it discusses one "rehomed" adoptee who is now in foster care and has apparently begged his foster parents to place him at a boarding school for children with emotional problems. But they won't because they homeschool him and also "don't believe in therapy for children." And these are

I was wondering whether Facebook might be keeping it live for the purpose of allowing authorities to find and track the people participating — and then maybe the group shut itself down for the same reason. There is a comment upthread that mentions that rather than shutting down the Yahoo groups maybe the authorities

yes, or Kim Basinger in a comeback role?

Tie between "Die a Little" and "Queenpin." Why won't someone make a movie of these? It would be amazing. The roles in "Queenpin" in particular would be so juicy for two great actresses. Amy Adams and Diane Lane? I'm terrible at imaginary casting.

Yes! I gorged on about 5 of her books in a row while on maternity leave.

Well, it depends. I live in the 'burbs of an uber-expensive city and yes, daycare is exorbitant. But we have some of the top-ranked public schools in the country, as well as things like great parks and outdoor activities, along with museums and arts and historical attractions that are great for kids as well as adults.
