I am in the business and I can answer number 1. Yes, it happens all the time. It honestly doesn’t even need to be a huge star. I have seen record company staff, like the A&R person, or even the artist’s manager, get songwriting credits. It’s considered a “perk”.

What annoyed the shit out of me the most was her whine that conservative pro-life woman don’t get a voice while discussing how Alabama just banned abortion. Uh...your “voice” just won, you fucking moron. 

I also think that the bad stories are so much more exciting to read. No one clicks on “Our AirBnB was clean and well located” but they sure love a headline like “Our AirBnB host killed our dog!”. I think you see more of the crazy stories because they make better content.
