I dislike Simmons as much as the next Deadspin Commenter, but this pretty clearly reads to me as him being pissed that bystanders let this go on.

TBH I’m legit cracking up right now. Oftentimes being misunderstood annoys me enough to get into comment battles, but this is just too hilarious to not let continue.
Only thing wrong with me is throwing far too-subtle shade for you burners to catch.
He’s a doctor. He didn’t choose to be a public figure, dude; he’s not Justin Bieber. He’s just a doctor who wanted to go home so he could treat his patients. What the fuck is wrong with you?
Riiiiight...but this “public figure” was literally dragged into the limelight, screaming, and against his will.

Well for his temper tantrum, and United/COSA incompetence, he is going to be filthy rich(ish).
The contest took place at the MGM Hotel and Casino, and the league’s gambling policy prohibits players from appearing at promotional events at casinos.
I hope they grab Kaep. This would accomplish two wonderful things: 1. It would give Kaep a shot to play for a team that isn’t definitely fucked right out of the gates, and 2. It would force a lot of flag-waving (U.S.A.! U.S.A.!) Texans to root for the guy who takes a knee during the national anthem. I’d tune in every…
Houston elected a lesbian mayor (who was eventually term-limited out) and is one of the most diverse cities in the country, so it’s probably safe.
It has got to be Cutler right? Kaepernick would probably get shot by rednecks in that state.
It’s a good thing that someone is kept in solitary confinement for 25 years (without access to basically any normal human activity)? I understand the legal side of things and why it can take a long time, but I’m not sure how anyone could make a reasonable argument for why it takes 25 or more years.
I get that, but I don’t see what the relevance is. We are going to look like heartless barbarians to future generations and we should be thinking primarily about how to rectify that in as many ways as possible, as soon as possible.
It’s not unheard of for an inmate on Death Row to be released. And if they’re going to be there for a few decades in solitary fucking confinement, maybe a woodworking hobby would help mental stimulation?
Death sentences—and, make no mistake, life without parole is also a death sentence—simply shouldn’t exist. As a result, everyone should be, to at least some extent, prepared for reentry.
The reason death row is so long in most states is because inmates are guaranteed more rights (in court) than a life without parole candidate. There are mandatory reviews and stuff. This is a good thing.
Because most people not in prison for life will have the benefit of using their trained skills. I don’t really care about death or life without parole prisoner satisfaction. I just don’t want them to face cruel and unusual punishment. It should be a relatively bad time (if you are never going to see the outside…
Something like 93% of Angola inmates have natural life sentences, meaning that they’ll die there. Louisiana locks folks up and throws away the key
If you DON’T think that, you should join me! It’ll be fun! We’ll get some beer and watch a ballgame!
Yeah. Ok. First off, I can assure you that I did NOT vote for the ‘winner’ of the election. I just happen to think that BOTH were / are the WORST candidates for President in U.S. history. What dumbasses like YOURSELF can’t see that WE ALL lost here, no matter who would’ve won. Let’s just hope that 2020 gives us…
