My problem with the design of this car is that sweep up and then down from the A-pillar. I really don’t like the shape of the door right there. They didn’t fix that.

No. There is no reason to think any of that is true.
Remember the Volt concept? They need to do a reverse T-Bird with this thing—take it from the boring family hauler it is to a two seat electric sports car that beats everything that isn’t a Corvette. Sell it for the same price point as the Bolt, and generate interest by having a cool car.
