The last thing this show needed was an unraveled Olivia, and it definitely didn't need that kidnap interlude which ate up four episodes. Scandal went into a death spiral after that, IMO.

Exactly my point. Bringing Andrew back AT ALL was pure shock value and added nothing to the overall story line. He could have stayed a vegetable for the rest of his life and spared us the spectacle of blood and gore all over the floor.
About Marcus's paycheck — how is OPA making any money? When's the last time they had a paying case? They should all be on welfare by this time.
I have no problem with Abby getting slapped down at all. The problem is one minute she's in Olivia's apartment acting like her best friend and the next minute she's throwing Olivia out of the WH? How did they get from point A to point B?
Bringing Andrew back at all was an idiotic plot device. The man had a devastating stroke and all of a sudden he snaps back to normal mentally with all his marbles still between his ears? How does this happen? They could have left Andrew marinating peacefully in the vegetable bin but evidently they ran out of WTF…
Has KW ever said anything to that effect? I thought she was ride-or-die with Shonda. Interesting.
I think there's a major difference between standing up for yourself and trying to walk all over someone else, which is what Abby tried to do when she told Olivia to get out of the WH and said she runs the Oval. I was like, what is she smoking? Abby doesn't run anything but her mouth.
That didn't happen in the finale, it happened while Huck got caught spying on Andrew and Lizzie. Andrew was being very naughty and was screwing Liz and Mellie at the same time. Huck killed the guy who caught him spying, but unfortunately Javi was right there and freaked for days.
Key word: still. The show has lost more than 40% of its audience since September.
The only thing about the season 4 finale I really hated was Huck gratuitously killing all those jurors. And this season we don't have a clue as to why he has mellowed out so much. Last season he was obsessed with killing. This season he acts like he doesn't want to swat a fly. What brought this radical change…
Just thought of something: Olivia had Andrew's blood spattered all over her face but I don't remember seeing any on her pretty white coat. How did that happen?
You call Abby turning into a power-hungry bitch "coming into her own"?
OK.
Gwen, a lot of people thought he gave that episode an F only because he was pissed off that Olivia ended up with Fitz. He was very much a Jake fan.
I like how Jake just eats now.
The "true Gladiators" think it's good. Everybody else bailed a long time ago.
Seriously, after reading the comments about this episode on FB and Spoiler TV, I am convinced Scandal's fan base has been reduced to those ride-or-die "true Gladiators" who act like a bunch of brain-dead lemmings following Shonda Rhimes blindly over a cliff.
Jesus please us, Scandal didn't jump a shark, it jumped an effing killer whale.
Oh goody! Darden finally got to tell Cochran off. Big whoop.
Wowie.
