Westview is a real town, and it did exist (and still does, within the hex). But as far as the outside world is concerned, everything within the hex has ceased to exist.

I had the same initial impression, but I re-checked and it was definitely Bobby and Cindy, not Buffy, Jody, and Mrs. Beasley.
Kathryn Hahn is so good that she shows Agatha as tearing up, then dramatically wiping the tear away as if she meant it only sarcastically.
Good point. I think Agatha said that she couldn’t bring back Wanda’s Pietro because he was lying dead somewhere and had a lot of bullet holes in him. So she had to work with what she could find.
Agreed, agreed, agreed, not agreed.
Sometimes the war comes to you.
Also, we have plenty of cicadas around here but I have never found one in my house (unlike, say, flies, crickets, stink bugs, or spiders). That’s not how cicadas roll.
I thought it was interesting, how soon after Wanda declaring, “Maybe I _am_ the villain” (going by memory, that might not be quite right), Agnes chose to reveal her alternate identity.
I did not know that — but I had just been thinking that the ‘fake’ Pietro might remain loyal to his sister, especially if her knew her in the same form. She wouldn’t know him but he would know her (and we’ve already seen that superheroes in the Hex can retain some of their own agendas).
I think the insect is a cicada rather than a fly. Wanda’s attention is even drawn to it because it’s making the cicada noise (though cicadas can be far louder).
As everything usually turns out to have significance, is “Ellis Road” a reference? The only one I can think of is “Ellis Island,” but that doesn’t seem to fit (though Westview has become somewhat of an island).
Another haunting moment: As Vision begins to destruct as he pushes through the force field and Darcy pleads with the assembled forces to help him, Vision is also asking for help — but not for himself.
“Help!”
“The people need help!”
I was wondering about that, too. If it’s a matter of conserving her resources, then expanding the perimeter will complicate that.
“Wanda Under Fire.”
(“Grace Under Fire,” 1993-1998)
Nice catch. Now I wonder if variations of 2:42 have significance.
Fully with you on the Rik Mayall tribute delivered by Paul Bettany.
It’s been asked before.
‘Baron Afanas’ - Apologies if this has been noted before. I recall reading that, when a ‘look’ was being developed for Doug Jones’s alien character in ‘Star Trek: Discovery,” there was some discussion re his non-existent butt. He suggested that they simply make it part of the alien creature’s look.
Given that, I can’t…
Even Rick accepted that Shane is Judith’s biological father. (They joked about it in a flashback in Rick’s final episode.)
“Can you hear her? CAN YOU HEAR HER?”
Good point. Even given the mission Carol sent him on, Negan wasn’t going to kill Alpha until he thought she deserved it. Her clearly expressed determination to kill her own daughter sealed that for him (but he wasn’t about to explain that to Carol).
