That's how I saw it, too. She not only lost her son, she blames herself for creating the circumstances that led to his loss (or so she thinks) by welcoming Rick's group. And, as a leader, she is probably thinking that she's doomed the community. That is a lot of guilt.

The town hasn't been fine. They were losing people because of the "cut and run" strategy. The leaders knew of and accepted Pete's abuse of his family because they needed his medical skills.

"I hated it a lot, even though I'm having a hard time processing why. "

Re Jessie, I agree. When she asked if he would do it for anyone else and Rick replied, "No," I thought that would cause Jessie to raise her guard further, not lower it. If I were Jessie, I'd trust Rick more if he had replied in the affirmative.

Regarding the dynamic between Sam and Carol …

I do find that an interesting theory. But Jessie hasn't given any sign that she is abusive. Pete, on the other hand, is creating abundant red flags. I think the photo for this review is well-chosen because it's the moment of recognition. Even when Carol began to suspect that Sam was alluding to abuse, she hadn't

I think she assigned it as sort of a Labor of Hercules. She wanted Sam gone and she never thought he would do it. When he returned with the chocolate, she realized that she had to re-evaluate Sam. (Also, Sam's level of desperation; and the fact that Sam might have the resources and will to survive; and that Sam is

There was the older couple on the porch going ga-ga over baby Judith.

Rosemary and strawberries … Talking Dead mentioned that strawberries are symbolic of righteousness in Christian art, but I don't think it was mentioned that rosemary is the herb of remembrance.

But … owl sculpture!

But the "away team" had already been designated. It was the same group that went on the trial run (with the addition of Eugene). The selection took place before the punch.

Exactly. And Aidan picked the people he thought would be least likely to resist his "authority." Glenn did insist that Eugene come along because Eugene had the best understanding of what parts would be needed.

He knew that something had spooked the birds that flew overhead. He was the only one who noticed and knew what it likely meant — and he also knew that the crew wouldn't know how to handle it.

I liked that, despite every group's own euphemism for the walkers, she went with "monsters." Even sheltered kids understand the concept of monsters … and it's a broad definition.

Rosita did have a significant speech not long ago, in the episode in which they used the mesh linings of jackets to catch fish. She explained that, in the post-ZA world (and likely before), Abraham had been the first person to see her as a contributor, an asset, someone with skills and strength. That clearly meant a

"Shane did not seduce Lori right under Rick's nose."

Wasn't Jessie's husband Pete introduced as a doctor?

I honestly don't think it has been featured; it's just been acknowledged.

Not to mention everything on the path in Terminus, including the boxcar. "A" was even the name of the episode.

In a way different than what you meant, it has panned out with great success. All of Rick's boxcar bravado was for naught; it was Carol who resolved that situation. But he was absolutely correct that they were "screwing with the wrong people."
