@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.:
@fuegerstef: I read it, I posted my comment before reading yours.
Non-commercial? Bummer.
@SG79: Well then, whatever it may have been that the software update triggered to malfunction, you're still left with the same valid argument. I mean sure some people could be lying for all we know but I'm sure Sony would want to analyze the consoles and see what went wrong.
@Your_Neighborhood_Spaceman: i c wut u did thar. #ps3
@EGBTMagus: Just because you haven't had a problem with your PS3, doesn't mean other people have had your good luck.
@Black-Dog-Howls: What it does prove is that it's a real issue and not just coincidental as Sony customer service wanted the suitors to believe.
@libregkd: Yeah I understand they were out of warranty but that doesn't change the fact that a software update from Sony themselves bricked their console.
@Whizkid103: Well just think for a second here. Put yourself in these two guys' shoes. You buy a brand new PS3, you go home and enjoy it for some time and then a software update from the OFFICIAL manufacturer breaks your console.
@Whizkid103: Don't ask about that "zero" I used.... #ps3
@Whizkid103: I doubt that agreement states something like "If our software updates brick your console, tough shit loser, that'll be $15o please, thanks!"
@shinigamixbl: Very good points as well, although you're completely disregarding Home.
@johnLD: Yeah the PS3 has a lot going for it for the foreseeable future, I've said this before but Microsoft better have something better than an ace up their sleeves. I'm still hoping they show some amazing applications with Natal or the like but we'll just have to wait and see how that one plays out.
@murderface_: Well you raise a good point, Xbox Live does provide more reliable service and has better support/updates due to Microsoft's ability to funnel the subscription price money into the development of the Live software.
I hate to admit it 'cause I only own a 360 but I believe this is happening because the PS3 is a much better value/investment.
At first I read the headline as "...Stood up for himself", I was puzzled as to how a baby could possibly do that.
@DefSheppard: Thanks, it seemed appropriate for the situation so I used it :] #uncharted2amongthievesfortuneh...
