Ah. Funny thing is since I got back, I keep thinking something is missing without the box atop. I got use to it being up there!

Indeed! I throughly enjoyed my trip. I wish I had my passport though so I could have actually gone into Canada instead of stopping at the border.

I finished up 6,000 mile road trip a few weeks ago and completely can concur the same thing. After a brief few visits to various national parks that were packed full of rental campers (piloted by a surprising number of Germans for some reason). I came to a conclusion very quickly, YOU NEED A SPECIAL LICENSE TO DRIVE

But the Gizmodo link takes you to the UK site?

That's because nothing is sacred anymore. Anything is possible now.

I was worried this was going to be the new Clubman, I'm glad it's not, but this 4 door BS needs to stop. They're making models that are redundant.

No to all of the above. Go look at the new Mini, it got me out of my BMW because they fixed all the issues with the old one. The build quality and materials are there. The ride is great (I have the optional 18"s) and the only people cramped are those sitting in the back. I cross shopped with the new GTI, A3, and went

Here's Texas' version. Basically added the 20" rims from the factory.

I just finished up a 6,000 mile road trip in my new Mini last week. :)

Self plug! I just finished a 6,000 mile road trip over 2 weeks in my new Mini. I went from Texas —> New Mexico —> Colorado —> Wyoming —>Montana —> Canada —> Wyoming —> Montana —> Idaho —> Utah —> New Mexico —> Texas.

Lots of driving and the Mini handled it nicely.

It isn't, but if it was, that's one hairy 12 year old....

I was born in 1992, so I fall into that date range. I've owned two new cars and numerous old BMWs along with the new cars. For some reason the "olds" who write articles like this think none of us want cars. Correction, we all want cars, but we want different things than generations before us. I don't want a large

I like my bloated Mini thanks.

Jalopnik new headquarters/boutique hotel in the house?

This was my experience as well.
