I didn’t watch a minute of this, but I am completely unsurprised that no one involved decided they needed a serious conversation about where they were going to live if they got together. Doesn’t get much different than New Jersey and South Carolina, never mind being 700 miles apart.

I don’t disagree with you at all. It’s a relatively shallow narrative wrapped up in the imagery and feel (if not story elements) of better films from an era in which the inmates were running the asylum in Hollywood. That’s relevant to you and I, but not to someone who doesn’t know those films. 

Fair point. I can’t separate my viewing of Joker 1 from knowing about those other movies, so for me, Joker 1 is just a completely hollow experience that doesn’t have much to say. 

Well, you can have a protagonist who isn’t a hero. Even though as we see with Breaking Bad, Fight Club... or well - Joker - the chances that you gather toxic fans who Think the protagonist Is a hero is high...
