This sounds about right to me. The earths magnetic field is pretty damn weak especially at a distance however far away from its core. So it stands to reason that a small magnetic field will deflect particles.

Is there an iPhone equivalent to a rom, where you can load a custom version of iOS. Because my 3g is retarded slow, and jailbreaking it only makes the problem worse. I'm pretty sure i will be switching to android in the next couple of months.

@crackel: I'm no expert, but I have heard that you do pay a premium for a diamond that is certified blood free. Just how apple would switch to a more humanitarian friendly production facility if they thought it would help them sell more phones, ie it was marketable value add to their products.
