Want to read a fascinating tale that shows the other side of how things went? Look for the book Commodore: A company on the edge. It tells the tale that is often overlooked by the Microsoft and Apple history and shows that the early years of home computers was actually dominated by Radio Shack (TRS-80) and Commodore

So I wasn't the only one thinking this. A lot of work seemed to go into this without really explaining what the point was.

Which is something I can't stand. Call it Fantasy.

Now playing

Hoover actually has a product like this already, called the Constellation. It was originally available in 1952 and is currently an updated product you can still buy.

I had a real love/hate relationship with the series. Everybody pretty much knows what the flaws of it are, but there are some things I would like to see retained:

Can Siri do anything without an internet connection? Waiting for my 4S, and was wondering if Siri would be useful at all while travelling and my data connection is turned off. Can she still add items to my calendar, reminders, play my music, etc?

For those that want to keep their butter a bit fresher outside the fridge, I highly recommend the use of a French Butter Bell.

I miss Eli Stone. A much quirkier and more fun to watch show based on a slightly different premise. That being said, I found A Gifted Man more watchable than the article writer thinks it is.

The link is sparse for why this is true. What is the science behind this black magic?

I'm surprised Samsung didn't use the PADD from Star Trek TNG instead. It is a far more 'tablet' style device, used for pretty much everything. The acronym stands for Personal Access Display Device.

And the article pic is of a front loading washer. Leave the lid open on that? What? The source article at least doesn't give that false impression.

Do you also make your own electricity at home? 300 degrees for an hour just to heat up 2 caps of vanilla extract seems a bit wasteful and expensive.

Both Ottawa and Toronto airports have free WiFi. Thanks for your US centric worldview. BTW, those cities are in Ontario, Canada, that big mass to your north.

I don't think the C128 was really a failed computer. About 4 million where sold in total.

Haters gotta hate.

Actually, if you read the article, the gun tubes are being used as rockets, not actual guns.

Ugly bags of mostly water.

And for those close to Ottawa (Canada).....

How about they fix what they have first before shoving more features at us? This upgrade is not very smooth, as I and many others have come to find out. Just check out the vast number of issues on the apple discussion forums and you can see that this release is far from perfect.
