F150 lightning (preferably custom ordered with an 8ft bed and single cab) and an E-gear Murciélago should slot in around $300k. I certainly wouldn’t say no to a gated manual Murci, but the budgets a few hundred K short for that.

Although most of it was recently undone by the dealership “upgrading” the software (I’ll have to get the programmer back out again, yay,) turning off a bunch of “features” in the different computers throughout the car.

Came here to say that my hot take is that all of them were terrible, but it seems that take might not be as spicy as I thought it would be around here...

Have you tried to find a parts car in the last 2 years? Seems pretty well priced for parts to me... Around me, anything that isn’t made of more rust than metal is going for north of $2k non-running.

NP! At the very least, you could part out what’s left and turn a profit.

Yes, but they’re shouting it online, and although it has no transit options, my town does happen to have internet...

Comment of the year.

Counterpoint, by using the label “ban cars” all you’re doing is enraging the folks who need them and/or enjoy them, and often immediately putting them in a defensive position and creating an us vs them mentality, which we already have an overabundance of in the modern era. Most folks won’t be willing to listen to this

I love a good Morgan... but I don’t know that this is a good one... not for that price anyway. Based on those pictures, I’m honestly not sure I’d even pay half that.

In my experience, they’re not a big deal for zoomers, but they are for most other folks. The problem with targeting that age range is 99% of them can barely afford rent, much less a luxury car so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t even have a passport, so I definitely can’t speak for the global market, haha, but Taxis make sense to go luxury, or at least higher-end to me.

I’m a big fan of Car Treck, but I do wish they’d tone down the acting a bit... None of them are particularly great at it, in my opinion, and they all have good off-screen personalities that I’d rather see more of come out in the show, particularly Freddy and Tyler.

Is this based in reality at all, or are you just tin-foil hatting here?
An MB has never been an “everyman’s” car, even in the cheapest models. This has nothing to do with them trying to take away transportation from “the poors” and everything to do with them trying to move back into the high-end market.

it used to be...

I still think the Grand Wagoneer needed to have wood paneling as a designator...

In my rural town, it’s at least 90%. Just looking out into the parking lot right now I see 6 diesels and 5 of them are very obviously modified... the 6th isn’t as obvious, but it is “chipped” as folks around here would call it.

And this is on a car website for what reason? Other than the obvious “our readers usually love/hate this guy and we want to rile them up” of course.

I despise touchscreens and would much prefer a joystick or iDrive knob to anything that doesn’t have physical feedback in some way.... I’m waiting for Apple’s haptic feedback tech to make it’s way to car touchscreens so you can have the “feel” and response of real buttons, but the idiots making the current

Neither of those were ever actually titled to me... If you mean the first car that had a title in my name, though, it was a 2018 Kia Forte, which I traded in on my current, much loved by me and loathed by this community, BMW X4 at a Ford dealership :p

it depends on your definition of first car... My Camaro sits rotting at a garage that I pass daily on my way to/from work... My Focus wagon got scrapped without my knowledge/permission (long story) after my dad decided to “warm it up” not knowing that the fan didn’t work and overheated it.
