When we wre in the market for a sporty sedan, I drove a Buick and was really surprised at how well it handled and drove on twisty country roads, which is all we have here. But then I drove a M-B C300 which was at least as good to drive, and was less expensive by $3K on the sticker. So guess whch one we bought?

You are just totally wrong. They don’t have to get off the road at all, and they were feet past the white line when they were hit.

Carrrier pilots have my total respect - it’s a crazy thing to even attempt, for it to be the day job, just amazing. Ships move around a whole lot out at sea - not like cruise liners at all.

There is a warhead packed full of the most vigorous high explosive chemistry that won’t explode from the stress of the launch. The point of the cruise missile is to deliver that warhead to within inches of the target, and if needed to deliver several warheads in a few seconds to the same target.

When I was in the USN my ship was in a shipyard for a complete overhaul. the yard also built new ships for the navy, some of which were nukes. They had a furnace the size of a large house used to anneal reactor vessels, heating them blue hot for days, and slowly cooling them so that flaws in the steel were erased.

And so I’m a vet from way back, and I’m curious what the “veteran’s discount” really is? Because I know dealers pump up the MSRP price pretty high before they do the sale prices...

Many years ago we went to dinner at a revolving restaurant on top of a very tall building in Atlanta. the all-glass elevator went up the side of a tall atrium, and then into a black space - the roof of the hotel.

This hull plate looks like it was installed by dwarven blacksmiths by beating it in a volcano. It’s lumpy, bumpy, uneven and sad looking. Is this how boomer and fast attack hulls look when they go to sea trials? I suspect not.

Still got the iron cross on their planes, don’t they? Not the same as the bent cross they sued in WW II, so that’s good.

We drove into town behind a low slung exotic car Friday night, wondering exactly what it was. Finally the driver took his foot off the brake at a light, and I could see the Alfa insignia.

Folks, President G W Bush signed the agreement with the Iraqi government specifying how many torrps could be based in Iraq and when. President Obama may have attempted to renegotiate that agreement, but the rules say without Iraqi agreement, the existing agreement was in effect.

Last car we bought, I test drove a Buick, which was surprisingly - no, shockingly quick and sporty. Then I saw a C-300 M-B with 8K miles on it, for $5 less than the nice Buick... hard to buy a Buick that costs more than a Benz. The Benz is like it’s on rails on a twisty road.

Chrysler TC by Masarati - my Dad bought one, traded a cherry LeBaron Convertable in on it, got a good deal at a Chrysler dealer in Sarasota FL. He titled the car in his name and mine, I inherited it when he died 11 years ago (seems like yesterday!). The car is still cherry, never a scratch!

We bought a RV trailer and used it as a bunkhouse, parked in my cousin’s backyard while I built a cabin in AZ mountains. It was flimsy and fragile, and cost $10K used. I hated it, and sold it as soon as the house was finished.

It seems to me that digital models built using fresh water data could be adapted to salt water use with either a simple constant or a more complicated function that would make the change from fresh water to salt water painless. They do have computers, which are used to build models, which can be revised and re-run

I’m a progressive liberal, ex-USN sailor (Bonsun’s Mate) and I agree that Republican/conservative leadership is not good for the military, nor for the veterans. Look at the period 2000-2008, and how well the military was served by President G W Bush’s executive branch. Not at all!

This is very specifically NOT civil disobedience, which means disobeying a law (like segregation laws, and black guys being arrested for sitting at “whites only” lunch counters!) that you personally disagree with. This event was demonstrating a personal dislike for the speaker, his opinions and his supporters in a

And then he could have beat her to death with no video to show what a monster he is. So that could have been a lot worse. Dead little girl instead of beat up little girl.

After watching the initial impact several times, it looks like the first missile hits obliquely on the fo’castle, and veers off to the starboard side before exploding less harmfully beside the hull, while the second one penetrates before exploding through the entire ship.

And what if you don’t want a four-door, but need a long bed to haul plywood, lumber, hay, etc, etc. Stuff people buy pickup truck for, in other words.
