I had never herd of Karmin before, but when it came on the screen I initially assumed it was a new Krisitin Wiig character. It took me a while to realize it was unintentionally ridiculous and horrible.

"a grafted-on cartoon laser beam"
As opposed to all the real laser beams that were used everywhere else in the film?

It was set up with her being his "wild sex" girlfriend. And them all wondering what she would do for VD sex. Also I agree that the 3some was stupid but that was not really the joke. The joke was how much he wanted it. It was a ridiculous almost Beer-commercial situation that would never happen this way, but it falling

Also, hate to be Nerdy (no I don't), but Midichlorians are not the Force.  As explained in TPM, the Force is still a spiritual idea the permeates all things in the Galaxy (animate and inanimate), Midichlorians are single celled organisms that are in Force sensitive people, that helps them feel and sense it. I agree that from a directorial standpoint, TPM is far superior to Jedi. A lot of Jedi is just filmed in a workmanship mode, just getting the shots with no sense of wonder or adventure or whimsy that you see in all the other films. Take the Vader/Luke duel. As what it is I am enjoying this show, it's not great but better than Grimm at least.

I caught the Final Frontier resemblance, but didn't know about Space:1999 using it first. I just couldn't figure out if it was an homage, joke, or accidental.

I agree with you, but a rare exception would be the show Smallville. Ma and Pa are good adoptive parents, and for much of the series his biological father is presented as kind of a fascist dick.

Was wondering why he was replaced in the last movie.

I thought I was going to hate this show, but it is one of my favorites. It's not quality art by any measure, nor is it daring or new, but it is fun inoffensive comfort viewing. It's nice to watch what is pretty much a show about friends solving scooby-doo like mysteries. It also makes more than enough nostalgic
