Props to Lady 2 for asking for the reason behind the gluten avoidance! This actually may be a good strategy for waiters trying to determine how hard they need to work to provide gluten-free food to their customers (like whether they need to avoid cross-contamination or not)! Seriously though, I’ve found whenever I get into one of those spirals where I’m depressed because I’m not doing anything and I’m not doing anything because I’m depressed, the best way to get out of those for me is to really focus on making myself healthy and happy. So I stop worrying about what I “should” be doing

1. Weed.

Late at night one weekend on the N/Q train on the Queens side, saw a drunk dude waiting at the door, shuffling back and forth. He clearly was very impatient for the doors to open. They opened one second too late. He projectile vomited all over the door in front of him.

It’s taken me years but I finally have trained myself to have the appropriate response to empty cars or passengers quickly leaving a car for the next one. LOL

People probably batted an eye or discreetly exchanged glances, but outwardly reacting to a mentally ill, aggressive, or homeless person could possibly earn you aggression or bodily fluids flung upon you so it is standard to remain stoic or just leave the car when something like that happens.
