I think the main reason is to make it a bit different from the one next to it. Which I get. That is why two minis rarely look alike whereas Hondas are identical.

Same here! My other problem is am a bit financially responsible so I always have a decent amount of money (for a 16 year old) sitting in the account. So, I always find myself buying dumb little things that I didn't need five minutes earlier.

Yup! I had it when I leased my Civic. Yes, I emailed my dealer days before and got quotes. But I still had to go in and talk with him. Took over two hours. Exactly. That is one reason Honda is so successful. They offer three trim levels on most cars with little to no options. It makes buying much easier.

Its that quick? I'm impressed. Do the dealers complain when you want a special order? My dad had that when he tried to get his Passat a few years back. They wouldn't let him order a custom one at all.

This is my biggest problem with MINI. It is nearly impossible to find the EXACT one you want sitting on a dealer lot. They all need to be custom ordered to get it perfect, so a lot of people compromise and miss out on the little things they want.
