@irishman: You are correct. They turn those old F-4's into targets andy usually paint the nose, wingtips and tail bright red for identification. I had the opportunity to see one buzzing around Davis-Monthan AFB a year or so ago - probably preparing to head out to the desert to be roasted by an F-22
