The trick to using OEM parts not specific to your car is to find out what OEM parts from other models that will work. For example with my CC I can use some Audi A5 and TT parts, Some Porsche Parts, and some VW GTI parts. Yet those same parts won’t fit a Passat.

Disagree, I have owned a few cars and trucks if you don’t use OEM plugs you will have all sorts of problems. Both my Trailblazers and the wife’s Grand Am were that way. MY VW is very picky too, but I don’t need plugs yet same with.

What to cheap out on, pretty much nothing, it is a car and cheaping out can get one killed, injured or cause catastrophic damage. Now good quality aftermarket body parts are OK and I guess if you don’t give a crap about the interior there are lots of cheap junk one can also use.

I owned 2 over an 11 year period, a 03 and 04 and put 365,000 miles on them with no engine or transmission problems at all. Daily drove both but not off road. Sure it had it had a few problems but I was also putting over 30k miles a year on it too so parts do wear out quicker.  GM made a big mistake stopping…

Well back in the day they did race at Spa without seat belts. I am glad the days of drivers dying in a race is not a weekly event is over due to improved safety. However the halo, is a bad idea, clear cover over driver like a fighter jet would be better if they want safer.

In the end, for any manufacture’s team, it’s a matter of bang for the buck, right now the very near future is electric cars, like it or not they will be everywhere in the next 15-20 years or less. If one wants to sell ‘The best or nothing” or ‘the ultimate driving machine” or you if want “Progress through technology”…

Correct, their pricing is the problem. I get the GM Corporate discount to buy a new car, even with the discount its still more then many Audi’s, BMW’s and Mercedes Benz. Nobody was going to pay more for a Caddy just because. It was a bad more, they should quietly adjust pricing or offer wicked high rebates.

It could actually be kinda rad keep the electric motors as an assist system, like in Prototype racing, course it would not be cheap either. Ok new plan, step one win lotto.....
