That’s how you know the internet has broken you: when you can already predict shitty, maggotty troll comments by just the headline alone.

“Are you playing online and play rather well? Doesn’t matter, once the other players realize you are a female, you are the worst thing that has ever happened in their lives.”
Not to disagree with you completely but COD had no woman operators because women were not in elite operator combat roles- and for the most part, still aren’t.
This is an issue for me, because I’ve always questioned to what degree “Walking Simulators” are really games. This has been a pet peeve of mine since Myst, and I’m not convinced that something like The Stanley Parable has more in common with, I dunno, Candy Crush than it does a Choose your Own Adventure book.
The real problem there is that the term “game” has always been an inadequate shorthand for a medium that is actually capable of being many more things than that one limited noun can encompass.
Nothing is timeless. Enjoy your life, enjoy your hobbies. Accept that everything ends someday.
I challenge you to provide a counterpoint on how Depression Quest wasn’t symbolic of a cultural shift in public discourse.
Man, I need to play Nier.
I like to think that one of the cool things about Kotaku is that you can come here for more information than you’ll get from a publisher’s press release. This is a good example of that. It’s not necessarily controversial or explosive info — it’s just context that you won’t find anywhere else.
There is no issue, it gives context to the announcement of the next installment in one of modern gamings biggest franchises.
I’m extremely excited for this. The first Bioshock was what got me into gaming at all, so the whole series holds a special place in my heart
Cloud Chamber, would you kindly make the best BioShock game you possibly can?
Honestly, I stopped playing around in January [PSN Beta] and started playing early October when the Role System was updated and put in place.
You’ve gotta get the roles to have anything to do, honestly. There’s the little bit of story in online, but that’s over relatively quickly. The roles are where it’s at. When animal spawns and camp setting work, Trader role is good. Always something to do, and the money is fine. Collector role is essentially a RDO$ atm…
Just play. Everything gives you xp. Work on leveling up your roles like the trader and especially collector. Once you can get a metal detector check some videos on YouTube for coin maps and follow that. I do a coin run usually when I play and just watch Netflix while he auto rides to places. The coins change locations…
Im a black male. I’ve never felt weird playing non-black characters, nor do I gravitate to heroes like Lucio and Doomfist. I dont relate to them just cuz their skin color is similar, and I think the notion is ridiculous.
I always found the obsession with having an African-American woman as oddly specific. We have two Egyptian women, an African man, a Haitian man, and a robot made by an African girl. It’s not like we’re lacking in Black representation with about 1 in 6 characters being black, and 14 women means women aren’t left out…
“In the future, Kojima Productions will also start making films,” Kojima said. “If a person can do one thing well, then they should be able to do anything well.”
“that Diablo III was too cartoony”
On the one hand, I have a bit of difficulty seeing how an attractive woman painting her naked body to resemble sexy videogame characters isn’t sexual (not that ‘sexual’ means it isn’t art, or that it’s not ok) - perhaps I’ve been exposed to too many SI Swimsuit bodypainting/Playboy bodypaint lingerie party/Black Tape…
