Can’t believe Alien -and for that matter, Silent Running- weren’t included in this list!

Yeah the fact that they left out Ripley and/or the Nostromo crew is staggering. Truly reputation-crushingly staggering. At the cost of what, a droid from a painfuly bland Star Wars prequel? Christ.

Um.

For anyone in need of support:

I’m already seeing the comments, so let’s be clear about something here:

“Cancel Culture” did not kill Alec Holowka. We don’t yet have the full picture of how he died, but it sounds as if he died by suicide, and had been suffering from a host of psychological and personal difficulties prior to that final, tragic act.

No

Ah, indeed.  A case of mistaken identity.  My apologies.

Peharps I took your sentiment out of context a little, but when you said:

The more I hear about the game design industry, it’s fans, and these generally unsafe practices at big developer events, I’m glad I was a fucking terrible artist who couldn’t put together a demo reel to save his life .[...] The more I hear, the more likely I’m willing to stop playing games altogether. To all the folks whining about how long this individual took to report her assault, or doing that whilst cautioning the rest of us to “wait for more facts to come out”:

If you told someone you worked with to eat your whole asshole, it could easily be considered sexual harassment, which is the type of behavior that you’re decrying. You complain about random players online being toxic and “repugnant,” but you’re basically being the same here, and just in response to someone

I LOVE YOU

Your logic spinning is ridiculous.... RIGHT.... that is exactly why people are ‘attacking’ you.. because we believe it’s okay for women to be harassed... uh huh....

I often have this mentality too, but then I think about all the good people and their jobs being a stake and it makes you wonder what is the right way. This applies to anything really.

Ultimately it seems like boycotting does more harm than good. We need to just keep coming out and outing the people who give everyone

There’s really no point in avoiding games over this. Listen to music? Watch Television or movies? Read books? The same shit happens in all of those industries.

If you think the game industry is any different than other fields in that regard then it might be time to wake up. I wonder what you ended up doing because that really feel like you never worked for someone in your life yet.
