I dig this take. Kefka is IMO the singular best villain in the FF series. Yet I had never compared him to Ardyn. They never felt the same to me.

Also: Kefka is far and away the best villain in FF history.

If more people could understand this. There’s so much more to ardyn than just funny bad guy or crying over spilt milk. He literally succeeded in doing EXACTLY what he set out to do. The pain he went through ravus doesn’t even come close to, hell ravus is the one acting like an idiot if anything imo. Theres no reason…

I liked Ardyn as a villain, and I think all the Kefka comparisons to him are somewhat disingenuous. Kefka has no motive except screwing everyone over because he’s insane. Ardyn isn’t insane, but his time stewing in his own thoughts has clearly left him with very little but his own dark thoughts.

I’d say that it was packed with time since he was a time manipulating cat.

I will own every Grant Tourismo game, SFV, and Horizon game(guerilla really). That said, Halo is generic shoot #28 at this point to me so its no draw.
