This guy, despite writing a solid movie in Sicario, does not come off as… well, let's say, he does not come off as exactly 'brilliant'.

Yes… Old Fitz is still sold, well, as of a year or so ago when I last looked… was still 'bonded' last I checked too.

It's a shame they dropped the age statement on it… was one of my go-to's as well.

I rented it, but was frustrated with something about it (Controls? Clarity of what you're supposed to do? Can't quite remember). Always meant to get back to it, but I never did.

I definitely watched LOTR waiting for Jackson's signature gore, and he had a few decapitations with blood-squirting to make my inner-voice giggle.

I'm no Hannity fan (he and Glenn Beck could be competing used-car salesmen at a ghost-town in the midwest for all their sincerity)….

El faced a lifetime of subjugation at their hands. I'd kill every motherfucker trying to turn me into a slave as well. Only difference is, I would have started with Dr Cronenberg (I forget Modine's character name).

Yeah, and in IT, there was a heavy emphasis on the fact that their 'belief' is what made the ammo potent… and Stranger Things kinda hit on that with the kids picking out rocks, choosing the one Mike falls on, and then all agreeing 'that's the monster killer right there' (or something to that effect).

I'll be honest, I never picked up on that detail until I read it online years later. I always took the cynical view that Mac was The Thing and offered the scotch as a way to infect Childs. Always depressed the shit out of me.

The monster trap staged by Nancy and Jon distracts said monster from attacking Hopper and Joyce while they're in the Upside Down. So it wasn't for naught.

LOL — You quote classic literature, I bring to mind low-budget schlocky horror films. You win today, sir.

Hey Now! I didn't say I needed it enumerated. Just better organized, as I wasn't interested in reading a full-on article on the subject, is all.

It's funny, The Thing was one of the VHS covers that stuck in my memory as a kid… but I didn't see it until college in about 2000, alone in a studio apartment, rented on a ratty old VHS tape… and man, did it blow my mind. One of my favorite all time movies.

Yeah, that was the best I could do with it (Hopper figures she can handle the bad men herself, at least till he gets back).

The directors answered that in a literal fashion in an interview… it was meant to be ambiguous (you didn't miss anything.)

Loved the hell out of this show. So damn awesome.

Agreed with the other replies… in that, if that comment came from a legit father who cared for his kids and family, then it would be completely acceptable. But obviously, Lonnie is just an opportunistic, man-child c#nt.

Personally, I felt that slingshot angle was more of an IT reference (kids kill all-powerful monster with a slingshot because they 'believe they can')… but that's probably what makes the show so great, most of the references aren't quite on the nose enough to 'force' you into 'knowing' what it is.

Pt2 is the more action oriented road-film, if I remember correctly, and was solid fun.

I read Howling II in fourth grade, and one particular scene between two ladies was imprinted into my memory…. was always frustrated it wasn't realized on screen in the movie. Bastards.
